January 2, 2012 4:15 am by Pedro Carrasco

Lightweight fighter, Bobby Green, has been forced out of his scheduled bout with Alonzo Martinez this weekend with an undisclosed injury.

Strikeforce officials announced the change in card yesterday afternoon but did not give word on a replacement opponent for Martinez.

“Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” is set to go down on January 7 from The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Nevada. In the main event, Luke Rockhold will attempt to defend his middleweight title for the first time against the crafty MMA veteran, Keith Jardine. The Main card airs for free on Showtime and the preliminary portion of the evening is set to air on Showtime Extreme.

Green is a former KOTC champ, who, upon making his Strikeforce debut suffered a close split-decision loss to top prospect Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante. After notching his first defeat for the promotion he went on to the Challengers series where he successfully took out Charon Spain and J.P. Reese in his last two outings. He was won six of his last eight fights, but will now have to wait until healed to return to action.

The latest “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” card includes:

MAIN CARD: (Showtime)
Champ Luke Rockhold vs. Keith Jardine

Lorenz Larkin vs. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal
Jordan Mein vs. Tyron Woodley
Tarec Saffiedine vs. Tyler Stinson

PRELIMINARY CARD: (Showtime Extreme)
