Miesha Tate: ‘ I just want to punch Ronda in the face’

“I’m prepared to do anything necessary to win this fight. I’ve trained everything. Obviously I have the wrestling. I feel like I have a very strong ground game that’s been really underestimated. So, I’ve been sharpening the things that I want to, that I feel like I need to. But, you know, I just really want to punch her. And I would love nothing more than to get my first clean knockout with my hands on national television on the biggest pay-per-view…that would be amazing for me. I’d love it if she’d stand and trade with me. But I don’t think that she’ll want to, so we’ll see what happens.”

“She’s just going to be a body. A body in the way of my title and that’s the way I want to keep it. I want to stay emotionally uninvested. I want to get the knockout because I want to prove I’m that much better than her. That’s just a personal goal, it doesn’t necessarily have to do with the fact that she is somewhat an arch nemesis. It’s just what I want to do.”

In a recent interview with MMA Fight Corner, former Strikeforce champ, Miesha Tate discussed her upcoming bout with TUF 18 coaching opposite and UFC bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey.

The two female fighters face off this weekend at UFC !68 in Las Vegas.
