Michael Bisping expects title shot with impressive win over Mark Munoz

By Chris Taylor - September 11, 2013

Michael “The Count” Bisping (24-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) is hoping that a convincing win over fellow middleweight contender Mark Munoz (13-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) at “UFC Fight Night 30” will result in a title shot opportunity.

The brash Brit explained to GiveMeSport.com that he’s already been told by the UFC that his upcoming bout has title implications:

“I’d love a fight with [Chris] Weidman. The UFC have told me that this fight has title implications. A good win over Munoz, if Weidman was to beat [Anderson] Silva again in the rematch there’s possibility of a match with Weidman, or maybe one of the top contenders. For me, in a perfect world, a win over Munoz and then I get to take the title off Weidman. That’s what I would really like.”

Bisping has been in this position before, but was unable to capitalize in his previous contender bouts against Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort.

Will the fourth time be the charm for “The Count” and do you feel that a win over Munoz on October 26 should result in a title fight for Bisping?

Let’s hear it Penn Nation!
