Today, we can now announce his replacement as it was confirmed on last night’s “UFC Tonight” on FUEL TV.
In for the injured Paulo Thiago comes Brain Melancon.
UFC Fight Night 27 is set to go down from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on August 28th and is set to air live and free on Fox Sports 1.
Melancon is a former Strikeforce fighter who didn’t show much promise until his returned to action in the UFC after a two-year absence from competition. After going just 1-1 under the Strikeforce banner the Texas-based fighter took his first fight back to action earlier this month at UFC 162 where he notched a victory over Seth Baczynski.
With this change to the fight night, the new lineup looks as follows:
Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann
Donald Cerrone vs. Rafael dos Anjos
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Brian Melancon
Sarah Kaufman vs. Sara McMann
Court McGee vs. Robert Whittaker
Robert McDaniel vs. Brad Tavares
Takeya Mizugaki vs. Erik Perez
Justin Edwards vs. Brandon Thatch
Darren Elkins vs. Hatsu Hioki
