Mayweather vs. Berto Struggling To Sell Tickets

By BJPENN.COM News - September 8, 2015

This is no May / Pac that’s for sure. Floyd Mayweather will take on Andre Berto this Saturday on PPV. Mayweather is claiming it’s his final fight and boy what a way to go out, not in a good way.

Unlike his last fight with Manny Pacquaio, which caught the attention of the whole world, his fight Berto isn’t really catching the attention of anyone.

With just four days to go before the fight, a report states that they are having trouble selling tickets to the event, as in, no one wants to buy them.

Looks like just because you slap Mayweather’s name on something it’s not going to cover up the fact that this fight is ridiculous. Mayweather could have picked any other boxer, maybe perhaps Amir Khan, and this would have been a solid fight to go out on. Instead we get this, a fight no one wants to see.

Here’s what ESPN’s Darren Rovell had to say:

With a little more than four days until Mayweather’s fight against Andre Berto at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Ticketmaster shows there are more than 2,100 seats available — and that doesn’t even count the tickets that are typically held by the promoters.

That’s despite the fact that the face value of this fight — ranging from $125 to $1,500 — is significantly lower than the prices for Mayweather’s fight in May against Manny Pacquiao.
