Former UFC Welterweight Interim Champion Carlos Condit was originally set to face off against welterweight contender Matt Brown this weekend during UFC on Fox 9. The event headlines a flyweight title bout between Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Joseph Benavidez in Sacramento, California.
Brown posted on his twitter on December 7, “Thanks for the support guys. I regret to inform all that I am out of the fight with Condit. I herniated 2 discs in my lower back this week.”
Brown’s wife told UFC Tonight that his injury would most likely not require any surgery.
If Brown is healthy enough to fight in February the fight with Condit may be rescheduled for UFC 170.
