Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva engaged in a war for the ages at UFC Fight Night 36, and the fight of the year candidate battle ended in a draw.

Hunt and Silva stood in front of each other, neither man backing down, and both fought hard for 25 minutes. The decision was not controversial, as many media members and UFC President Dana White himself agreed with the judges.

Hunt also didn’t mind the draw, and he explained to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour why he wasn’t upset.

“I just thought it was a normal fight. It was pretty good. I don’t know [if it was the best heavyweight fight ever],” Hunt said. “It’s hard to see from an outside perspective when you’re the one in there,”

“I just know I could have done a lot more things,” he said. “But I get pretty judgmental when I watch myself fight.”

“I think we both put our hearts out there, I didn’t mind a draw anyways. We both had our moments in the fight. It didn’t really matter to me,” Hunt said.

“‘Bigfoot’ popped me and I popped him so it was pretty good. I wasn’t mad about the draw. I could deal with it,” he said. “I didn’t realize I had broken my hand, I couldn’t clench my fist. I thought it was good call.”

White was extremely impressed by the fight, and after the match, tweeted this:
