This past weekend at UFC 163 in Brazil, former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (19-4 MMA, 11-4 UFC) lost a controversial split decision to Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis (12-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) in the evenings co-main event.

While “The Dragon” has already publicly requested a rematch agaisnt Davis, he revealed a stipulation last night during ‘UFC Tonight’ on Fuel TV to Ariel Helwani:

According to @arielhelwani, @lyotomachidafw wants a 5 round rematch with @PhilMrWonderful. What you say @danawhite?

– UFC Tonight (@UFCTonight) August 7

A five round bout would certainly make things more interesting and potentially more definitive. Is a five round main event rematch between Davis and Machida a fight you would like to see put together by the UFC? Let’s hear it Penn Nation!
