It’s a funny thing, fighter pay. No one really has a true grasp on it outside of the disclosed salaries reported by certain governing bodies required to do so by law. But even that disclosed pay is often skewed as it doesn’t take into account, bonuses, pay-per-view points or sponsorship dollars.
Fighter’s don’t even discuss how much they make, unless it’s not enough.
In a recent interview, Lorenzo Fertitta was discussing the topic and explaining how the UFC’s top fighters like Anderson Silva and GSP will walk making around 4 or 5 million per night. He then went on to discuss female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and how much his female champion makes.
“We have an incredible athlete like, Ronda Rousey, who is the highest paid female athlete in the history of combat sports. Who is literally making millions of dollars per fight. Our revenue share is very similar to those other leagues that exist.”
