‘King Mo’: ‘I’ll Fight Fedor In Japan’

By BJPENN.COM News - September 22, 2015

Bellator’s ‘King Mo’ Lawal was scheduled to fight in the ‘Dynamite’ light heavyweight tournament final this past Saturday, against Phil Davis. That didn’t happen.

Mo won his first fight, defeating Linton Vassell, to advance to the final where he would fight for the chance to be the next title challenger. Unfortunately during that first fight he injured a rib and between fights determined that he wouldn’t be able to fight later that night. So, the alternate Francis Carmont stepped in and lost to Davis via TKO.

Mo told MMAJunkie Radio that he’s healing up but would be down to fight anybody the promotion throws at him, whether it be Davis, or even Fedor Emelianenko.

“Fighting Tito does nothing for my career. Fighting him is for nothing but a paycheck, but if he wants it, he can get it. For the most part, I’m not out there trying to get him. I wouldn’t mind fighting Phil Davis. I’ll fight Fedor in Japan. I’ll fight anybody.

“I didn’t see (Davis’) second fight because I was in the hospital, but I heard he looked great. So I wouldn’t mind fighting him. Actually, I’d love to fight him.”

“I’d fight Fedor if they let me. I’m not in the game of waiting. I waited for the UFC because I could have went there; they told me to wait. The thing is with me, I’m in the game of getting paid. So as soon as I’m healthy, I’m going to fight. If you keep on winning, you’ll get what you need to get.”

Fedor will return on a co-promted Japanese event which will air on Spike TV on New Years Eve. Would you guys want to see ‘King Mo’ vs. Fedor?
