Khabib Nurmagomedov celebrates

UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov is on the sidelines once again due to injury.

Khabib understands the fans frustrations and of course he is frustrated with the whole situation himself. The lightweight was set to face Donald Cerrone at UFC 187, which would have most likely been a number one contender match.

Now, he will have to watch Cerrone fight John Makdessi and according to Khabib, if Cowboy wins, he deserves the title shot. Here’s what he had to say on The MMA Hour.

“I think if ‘Cowboy’ wins, he have [an] eight-fight win streak and this is awesome,” Nurmagomedov said. “He deserves [it].”

“If he lose, I promote my title fight. If he wins, he deserves it. Eight-fight win streak, this is no joke.”
