Jussier Formiga Shooting for Gold After Big UFC Fight Night 67 Win

Jussier Formiga had an opportunity to show the world what he was made of when he fought Wilson Reis on the main card of UFC Fight Night 67 this past Saturday.

Not only did Formiga walk out with his hands raised, but he put on a one-sided performance and shut Reis down almost every opportunity he could.

Now, Formiga is eyeing a shot at the UFC Flyweight Championship.

“I believe I’m top four in the division,” Formiga said after his fight with Reis. “It’s up to the UFC. From No. 1 to No. 5, Demetrious has beaten them all, and if I have a chance, I’m not going to take it for granted.”

Formiga is currently ranked fourth in the flyweight division and is the only top-five fighter not to lose to “Mighty Mouse” Demetrious Johnson. The flyweight division is in a bit of a log-jam with Dodson and Benavidez having already beat Formiga, but the argument could be made for all three men.

“My main goal was to have a great fight against Wilson. He’s a tough guy… He wasn’t very well-ranked, but he’s coming from two wins in the UFC. He’s got a great name in the division, and I was able to have a great fight against him.”

Do you think Formiga has what it takes to dethrone “Mighty Mouse”?
