Josh Thomson: ‘No Doubt Khabib’s A Future UFC Champ’

By BJPENN.COM News - September 12, 2015

Former UFC lightweight and current Bellator MMA lightweight Josh Thomson trains with top UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov at AKA and says that there’s no question ‘The Eagle’ will be a champ in the very near future.

Khabib Nurmagomedov celebrates

Khabib will return after a long layoff due to injury and face off with Tony Ferguson. Before being injured, Khabib fought and defeated the current UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, so you can understand why he would be hopeful that if he gets a rematch he’ll be able to grab the gold.

Thomson agrees with that thinking and says there’s ‘no doubt’ Khabib will be the champ soon enough.

Here’s what he told MMAJunkie:

“There’s no doubt about it (that he’s a future UFC champion). The current UFC champion right now is someone he already beat, and he didn’t just beat him, he destroyed him. He threw him around with ease.”
