Yet again, the fight date for Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira has changed. UFC President Dana White initially announced that the fight would remain as the UFC 171 headliner in Dallas at today’s conference call, he quickly corrected himself on Twitter, saying: “Sorry I misspoke on the conf call. Hendricks vs Lawler will be main event in Dallas and Jones vs Teixeira will headline UFC 172.”
This marks the fourth different event that the 205lb title fight has been scheduled for. The bout has been scheduled to take place at 169, 170, 171, and now, 172, which is scheduled to take place sometime in March or April. No location or venue has been announced yet.
Jones (19-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) , looks to defend his title for the seventh consecutive time, following a unanimous decision win over Alexander Gustafsson in September. Glover (22-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC), meanwhile, is riding on an impressive twenty fight win-streak, most recently knocking out Ryan Bader in September.Tags: alex garcia, Bubba McDaniel, diego sanchez, Glover Teixeira, Hector Lombard, Jake Shields, jon jones, mma, MMA NEWS, Myles Jury, Ovince St. Preux, Sean Spencer, Thiago Silva, tor troeng, ufc, ufc news
