Jon Jones was recently in a hotly contested battle at UFC 165, where he faced Alexander Gustafsson. It seems Jones is still feeling the effects of that fight, as he has recently withdrawn from a scheduled fight with Glover Teixeira.
Apparently, Jones suffered a foot injury in his match against Gustafsson, and is taking the rest of the year off to heal his injury.
Ariel Helwani reported to “UFC Tonight” on Wednesday that Jones’ Manager Malki Kawa said Jones would be taking the rest of the year off, and plans to return to training in January of 2013. Kawa told Helwani that Jones “needs a mental and physical break,” and hopes to return to training camp without a nagging injury.
Helwani also reported that Kawa told him Jones plans to return in March or April of 2014.Tags: Alexander Gustafsson, Ariel Helwani, Bones Jones, Glover Teixeira, injured fighters, injury, jon jones, Malki Kawa, mma, MMA NEWS, ufc, ufc news, ufc tonight
