Even though a week has passed since Georges St. Pierre defended his title against Johny Hendricks in a controversial split decision victory, fans and Hendricks alike are still reeling from the decision.
UFC President Dana White had harsh words for the judges who scored the fight, and said he is “f***** scared to come back to [Nevada]
Now Hendricks has responded, saying he is ready for the rematch.
“Dude I’ve got three kids. You know what I’m saying? Talk about sleep? Are you kidding me? Everybody’s got problems in life. That’s the way it is. If you can’t handle being champion, give it up,” Hendricks said.
Hendricks continued, “we chose to get into that octagon, we chose not to sleep. I don’t know how many times I’ve went to bed at five, six o’clock in the morning and woke up at 10, running four miles because I wanted to beat GSP that bad.”
“Dude, who cares. I chose this life. Tell yourself whatever you need to. Just get back in that octagon with me. I can’t wait for the rematch,” Hendricks added.
The rematch seems unavoidable at this point, and it seems as though that the only obstacle that hinders the UFC from setting up the second fight is determined by when St. Pierre decides that he is ready to return to competition.
