Joanna Makes History As Largest Betting Odds Favorite In MMA

When you have the kind of dominating performances like UFC strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk has had in her last few fights than it’s not surprising that few give her upcoming opponent, Valerie Letourneau, much of a chance.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk

However, I don’t think anyone expected Joanna to open as a -2000 favorite over the Canadian striker, according to Bovada. Just take a moment to let that sink in. Those odds are ridiculous, in fact, that’s higher than undefeated bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has ever reached in her career, even in her recent lopsided matchup with Bethe Correia.

The odds are likely to shift at least a little bit as the fight gets closer, but still, if anyone’s looking to make some money off a long shot, here’s your chance.

Joanna has seemed unbeatable in her last two fights. First she took out the former champ and winner of TUF 20, Carla Esparza, after defending all her takedowns and battering her with strikes. She followed that win up with her first title defense against Jessica Penne. She once again used her stand up to beat Penne, turning her into bloody mess.

Do you think she’ll do the same thing at UFC 193?
