Joanna ‘Champion’ Says Valerie Letourneau Deserves Title Shot

By BJPENN.COM News - September 16, 2015

At UFC 193, which will take place on Nov. 14 in Melbourne, Australia, strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will take on Valerie Letourneau in her second title defense.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk partakes in one of the best women's title fights ever

In her last two fights, against former champ Carla Esparza and challenger Jessica Penne, Joanna looked unstoppable, battering both fighters until the referee saved them from more damage. Now she’ll face the relatively unknown Letourneau, but insists she’s worthy of the title shot.

Here’s what Joanna said at the recent UFC 193 press conference:

“I’m super happy that she beat Maryna Moroz because (Moroz) had a really big mouth; she called me and wants to fight me, but Valerie did a great job with Maryna Moroz. She almost knocked her out in the first round, so she did well and she deserves to fight for a title.”

How do you see this fight playing out, will Joanna dominate once again, or can fellow striker Letourneau pull off the upset?
