Holly Holm: ‘Fighting Rousey Sooner Could Be Better’

By BJPENN.COM News - September 12, 2015

Undefeated UFC bantamweight Holly Holm is gearing up for the biggest fight of her life, against champ Ronda Rousey, which will now take place on Nov. 14, instead of the originally scheduled Jan. 2.

Rousey vs. Holm was set for UFC 195 but because of changes to the main event scheduled for UFC 193, which was Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit, the UFC decided to bump them up to a sooner date.

Lawler injured his thumb and wouldn’t be ready to go by then so now we’ll get Rousey vs. Holm in Melbourne, Australia instead.

Holm recently appeared on The MMA Hour and talked about the change in plans.

Here’s what she had to say:

“In a lot of ways it might be better than having four months to let it wear me down. Once I know the fight, it’s on my mind — it doesn’t matter if it’s two months or four months. It’s on my mind every day. In a lot of ways, it can be a lot better. I choose to look at it in the positive ways.”
