The lack of star power, airing on Sunday and major competition seemed to all hinder UFC Fight Night: Saskatoon this past weekend, as it brought in the third-lowest number of viewers for a prime time UFC Fight Night event that aired on FS1 this year.

The event did 796,000 viewers, with the average for prime time being 901,000 viewers. It should be noted that for a large portion of the broadcast, it was going up against the likes of a NFL preseason game and of course WWE SummerSlam, which aired on PPV and the WWE network.

The main event, which was touted as an exciting fight between two young featherweight contenders, but ended up being a less than two minute fight, when Oliveira suffered a freak injury to his esophagus.
