Former K1 kickboxing champ and Pride fighter Alistair Overeem stood toe to toe with former champ Junior “Cigano” dos Santos last night and delivered devastating results as the co-main event. Cigano was vocal about his fight against Overeem prior to the event and wasn’t excited about it then, while it makes a lot of sense now.
While a loss may seem like the end of the world for the former champ, a thin heavyweight division allows dos Santos another title run, similar to Mark Hunt and Andrei Arlovski.
