In their first match, Weidman shocked the world when he knocked the dominant champion Silva out cold in the second round. Herb Dean was the referee in that match as well.
“The first fight was quite strange, and I normally don’t recommend the same ref for the rematch, but here, I think it would actually be very appropriate,” Keith Kizer, Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission said.
The judges for UFC 168 were also announced, and Chris Lee, Junichiro Kamijo, and Patricia Morse-Jarman will be the three cageside judges for the event.
