Dan Henderson adds to the list of leery people voicing disapproval of his training partner and friend, Chael Sonnen leaping to the front of line for a title shot. “Hendo” was promised the next light heavyweight title shot against champ, Jon Jones, prior to his injury.
“That wasn’t directed at Chael at all. It is what it is. I called it how I saw it. I could have said that the UFC is promoting circus acts. You know, the man with the longest arms against MMA’s biggest mouth? It is what it is.
I don’t think that the fans wanted to see that — they don’t view it as a real fight.
I’ll always have love for Chael. I’ll definitely help him train if he needs or wants my help. Advice? I trained a whole training camp for Jones. I probably have a lot of game plan in there. But, Chael and I are just different fighters, as well.”
“Hendo” will face off with with Lyoto Machida at UFC 156 in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Feb. 2, 2013. While UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones defends his title opposite Chael Sonnen following the two coach opposite each other on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17.Tags: Chael Sonnen, Dan Henderson, featured, jon jones, mma, MMA NEWS, ufc, ufc news
