Henderson: I Don’t Care What [Belfort’s] On, I’m Going To Beat Him Up

As I spoke about in an earlier article, Belfort and Henderson will be on an even TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) playing field for their upcoming showdown, at Ultimate Fight Night 32.

How they arrived at that field, however, is up for debate.

“Hendo” believes that Belfort is using TRT because of prior steroid use, not naturally occurring low testosterone – something that Henderson himself suffers from. But regardless as to why Belfort is using it, Henderson feels that TRT won’t be the deciding factor; Belfort will be getting “beat up” either way.

Belfort’s MMA career seems to have been – pardon the pun – “born again” as of late, enjoying a new surge in wins, including two brutal head-kick knock outs… not that Henderson is concerned with any of that. The former two-division Pride champion expects to “beat Belfort’s ass” and break him, like he did in Vegas 7 years ago. “He’s more dangerous than he used to be, but I am too,” Henderson said Sunday while traveling from the U.S. to Brazil. “I feel I have more tools I can utilize and that makes it tougher on him.”

Henderson seems to be drawing confidence from the fact that Belfort had utilized anabolic agents during their last encounter, but still was unable to defeat the Olympian. The “Phenom” claimed that over-the-counter supplements were the real culprit for a positive test result, Henderson’s doesn’t buy it – and he believes that prior steroid use is the real reason Belfort qualifies for testosterone replacement therapy today. “That’s part of the deal”, he said.  “You test positive in the past so people expect you took steroids for a long time.”

“I never touched steroids. Henderson said. ” But I still have low testosterone. I am on TRT so I can’t really point fingers too bad, other than the fact that I’ve never taken steroids and he has. With that being said, I don’t really care what he’s on or not on — I’m going to beat him up no matter what. Just like the last time I fought him.”

We’ll see if Hendo will back up those words, this Saturday night.
