This past weekend, Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson went to war in Stockholm. The bout saw Gustafsson KO’d in the first round, marking the first time ‘The Mauler’ had been stopped by strikes in his career.

Overnight ratings from TVbythenumbers show 2.82 million viewers tuning in to see the scrap, however that is just a preliminary figure, and the final number is sure to be higher.

These ratings mark a spike from the last UFC on FOX event, which was headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic, and did 2.27 million viewers.

The last show to beat Gustafsson and Johnson’s numbers was January 26th 2013, where Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson fought in a 5-round war for the flyweight title. Also on that card was Anthony Pettis vs. Donald Cerrone in a lightweight title eliminator, and Rampage Jackson’s final fight in the UFC against Glover Teixeira. That event did 3.3 million viewers.

Stay tuned for the final viewer count!
