Guillard: “They are gonna call me the jiu-jitsu killer after I’m done with Lauzon”

“I’m going in the same way I went in on Evan Dunham, who was a [Brazilian jiu-jitsu] guy. The same way I went in on Shane Roller, who was a BJJ guy. Man, they’re going to call me the jiu-jitsu killer after I’m done with Lauzon. He’s got to put me to the mat and hold me before he can submit me. Joe Lauzon, he’s not even big enough to be a [lightweight]. He should be a [featherweight] in my book. He’s a small guy. I know Joe personally, as well. He’s not that big of a guy, and I know damn well he’s not stronger than me. But, you know, I believe in the little guys. I knocked a lot of big people out in my life. You can’t always underestimate the little guy. He’s crafty. He’s dangerous, if I allow him to be.”

The surging Melvin Guillard tells the media following yesterday’s open workout festivities that he fully intends on knocking out his UFC 136 opponent, Joe Lauzon.

While in the past, his glaring weakness has been his susceptibility to submission grappling, it’s been awhile since we have seen this hole in his game exposed.

Will Joe Lauzon be able to chip away at the Team Jackson fighter’s armor tomorrow night enough to expose his flaws once again or will Guillards prediction hold true?
