GSP Trainer Says Dana White Apologized For UFC 167 Outburst Towards Welterweight Champ

When UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre was awarded a decision victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167, Dana White wasn’t too thrilled.

The UFC president’s emotional outburst after the fight sent the MMA world into a frenzy, particularly the part about GSP (who said he wanted to take a hiatus) owing the fans and the promotion an immediate rematch with Hendricks.

It appears that White may have softened his stance

According to St. Pierre’s trainer, Kristof Midoux, who spoke with the Quebec Journal, White reached out to offer an apology for the statements made in the post-fight press conference and that after rewatching the fight, believes that St-Pierre was given the right decision.

“Few people know it, but the next morning he (White) called George and told him, ‘I’m sorry, I watched the fight again and you have indeed won. I spoke under the influence of emotion.’”

The one-on-one confession wasn’t enough for Midoux. Midoux feels White should publicly apologize to St-Pierre and also got a dig in at Hendricks, saying he should be tested for performance enhancing drugs .

“If I were him, I would ask for a public apology from White, who should say to the media that George has really won the fight. Second, I would tell him to send people to test whether Hendricks is natural or not. At this point, it would show me that he is a good boss and he does things as they should be done. “

The odds have to be extremely low that White will go public with the apology, right?

And as far as the drug tests, all of UFC 167’s combatants already came back clean.
