“You cannot predict the future. So I take only one step at a time. I don’t know if it’s going to be Carlos or what’s going to happen. In mixed martial arts, there’s so many things that happen. You never know. I don’t even focus on fighting right now. I don’t even focus on that. I don’t even think about it. I just focus on my knee. That’s the most important thing… I don’t really watch fights when I’m not involved or when one of my friends is not involved or my next opponent is not involved. I study mostly guys when I know I’m fighting them… I don’t want to do the same thing again. I pushed too much the first time and it will not happen again. It was the biggest injury of my career. But I did the right thing, surrounded myself with the right people, and I will come back stronger from it.”
Having been out of action for more than a year the welterweight champ is forced on the sidelines rehabbing a knee injury he suffered earlier last year. He has had to pull out of two title matches and had to let the UFC give up an interim title in his absence.
But can the champ, who has been so dominant throughout his career, return to his old self or will we see a GSP who has lost a step once he steps back in the cage?featured, MMA NEWS, Strikeforce, strikeforce news, ufc news
