Rick Glenn made the most of his second chance.
After being twisted like a pretzel and nearly seeing the fight stopped late in the first round, Glenn came back to score a stunning knockout of Brazilian submission specialist Alexandre Pimentel at World Series of Fighting 2 on Saturday.
The end of the 145-pound bout came at 1:51 of the third round. Glenn improved to 13-2 with the win; Pimentel suffered his first loss, dropping to 12-1.
Pimentel nearly finished the fight in the first round, securing Glenn’s left arm with his legs and then attempting the rear naked choke. With referee Dan Miragliotta poised to jump in at any second, the Milwaukee native eventually escaped.
Glenn began to find his range a bit more in the second round, backing Pimentel up, before the Brazilian dropped Glenn with a right and locked in his hooks. Glenn eventually escaped and enjoyed his best moments of the fight to that point, exchanging blows with Pimentel.
In the third, Glenn caught Pimentel with a short combination that sent him to the ground. Several hammer fists left Pimentel unconscious.Tags: mma, WSOF 2
