Georges St. Pierre Removed From UFC Official Rankings

December 17, 2013 2:25 pm by Derek Langhorn

After deciding to relinquish his title and walk away from the sport, Georges St. Pierre has now been removed from the UFC’s official rankings.

The reason for this is that fighters who are retired are not eligible to be ranked.

Ronda Rousey, who was previously unranked, has now been ranked number 10 in the pound-for-pound rankings.

St. Pierre’s removal from the rankings has caused a shake up in the welterweight and pound-for-pound rankings.

The UFC’s official rankings are voted on by media members, and are as follows:

#1 Jon Jones
#2 Jose Aldo
#3 Anderson Silva
#4 Cain Velasquez
#5 Demetrious Johnson
#6 Renan Barao
#7 Anthony Pettis
#8 Chris Weidman
#9 Benson Henderson
#10 Ronda Rousey

#1 Johny Hendricks
#2 Carlos Condit
#3 Robbie Lawler
#4 Rory MacDonald
#5 Jake Ellenberger
#6 Demian Maia
#7 Jake Shields
#8 Matt Brown
#9 Martin Kampmann
#10 Tarec Saffiedine
