Frank Mir Taking Time Off From Fighting

By BJPENN.COM News - March 26, 2014

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Frank Mir, has seen better days.

The future hall-of-famer is riding a four-fight losing-streak inside the UFC’s Octagon, and for most athletes that means a UFC release.

During a recent interview with FOX Sports, Mir’s manager, confirmed that Frank isn’t going to have to test his free-agency worth, because the UFC is not releasing him, but has decided to take some much-needed time off from fighting.

Check it:

“He’s just taking time off. He’s taking a little bit of time and we’ll figure out what his next fight is going to be, and what he’s going to do next. Right now we haven’t come to a conclusion on that time frame yet. We’ll know something very soon, but there’s nothing really happening quite yet. But yeah, he’s still on the roster.”

Mir last saw action in a unanimous decision loss to Alistair Overeem in February.
