Fight Night 38: With Tibau Injured, Prazeres Steps Up To Face Taisumov

The injury bug has found another victim in the form of top lightweight, Gleison Tibau.

UFC officials recently announced that Michel Prazeres will serve as his replacement against Mairbek Taisumov.

UFC Fight Night 38 goes down on March 23 from the Ginasio Nelio Dias in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. In the main event two legends will rematch when Dan Henderson squares off with ‘Shogun’ Rua for the second time under the UFC banner. The fight card airs on FOX sports 1.

Prazeres, a 30-year-0ld Brazilian fighter, last saw action at UFC 165 where he secured a split-decision victory over Rony Jason. It was a much-needed win after his UFC debut saw him suffer defeat at the hands of Paulo Thiago. The Thiago defeat snapped his unbeaten record.

A timetable on Tibau’s return is unknown.
