Fedor Says UFC “Offered Unacceptable Conditions”

By BJPENN.COM News - September 15, 2014

Fedor Emelianenko is considered by many MMA fans to be the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time), the only argument against the Pride FC legend is that he never fought in the UFC. As a result, he is overlooked by others while being discussed in terms of who the GOAT is.

The UFC had tried to reach an agreement with Emelianenko for some time to get him to fight Brock Lesnar, however nothing materialized.

Fedor spoke with AXS TV on an episode of The Voice Versus Fedor about why he never fought in the UFC saying:

“Well, the UFC didn’t want me to fight there,” said Fedor in an interview on the upcoming edition of AXS TV’s The Voice Versus Fedor. “We were unable to make a deal. They offered unacceptable conditions.”

“Actually, when I fought in Pride, we had the best fighters in the world. Back then, the UFC had a very serious and big crisis. They were going through some hard times being able to get top fighters. All the best fighters were in Pride. Later on, when Pride ceased to exist (after the UFC’s paren company bought the promotion), the UFC didn’t immediately pick up speed.”

There was talk from Bellator MMA President Scott Coker about a potential superfight between Fedor and Randy Couture earlier this month, but no further news has been released.

Do you think Fedor will ever fight again?
