UFC officials announced the new matchup today, which will find it’s home on the April 26 card, emanating out of the Baltimore Arena in – you guessed it – Maryland. The main event will see light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones meet the hard-hitting Chuck Liddell protégé, Glover Teixeira.
“Touchy” Fili has seen a plethora of success in his MMA career, and is currently riding a nine-fight win streak, with almost 80% of his wins coming by way of stoppage. He also has, in my humble opinion, one of the best nicknames in the sport. After all, it’s not easy to nail the duality of “creepy” and “hysterical”.
Holloway will be coming off a “Knockout of the Night” win earlier this month, after suffering two decision losses in a row against Conor McGregor and Dennis Bermudez.
Here’s how the lineup looks so far:
• Champ Jon Jones vs. Glover Teixeira
• Jake Ellenberger vs. Tarec Saffiedine
• Joe Ellenberger vs. Yancy Medeiros
• Andre Fili vs. Max Holloway
