Fallon Fox kept her improved her undefeated record to 3-0 last night by defeating Allanna Jones at CFA 11.
With a third-round submission victory over Jones, Fox advances to the finals of Championship Fighting Alliance’s women’s featherweight tournament. That fight will feature Fox taking on Ashlee Evans-Smith.
Fox’s submission was a modified choke from the north-south position, wherein she used her arm and knee to apply pressure to both sides of Jones’ neck, ultimately forcing her opponent to tap-out. After the fight, Fox credited the choke to Shayna Baszler, saying, “I saw that in one of her matches one time and I was studying it… It’s pretty awesome that I got to pull it off in this fight.”
Fox is most known for being the first transgender fighter, undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2006 and facing a number of issues reattaining her license to fight earlier this spring.
