UFC 142: Aldo v Mendes - Press Conference

J

Team Alpha Male founder Urijah Faber has been a mentor to TJ Dillashaw, the current bantamweight champion. It’s no secret that Team Alpha Male and Nova Uniao have a rivalry. Prior to TJ Dillashaw’s upset over Renan Barao, Team Alpha Male was winless against Nova Uniao.

Jose Aldo, who has defeated both Urijah Faber and Chad Mendes, is looking for his next opponent after defeating Mendes at UFC 179 recently.

Urijah Faber spoke on Submission Radio about the possibility of a champion vs. champion bout between Jose Aldo and TJ Dillashaw.

“You know, part of the reason of why TJ is so great is that he really believes in himself and he’s an amazing athlete. So we’d really have to ask Barao how he matches up with Aldo. I imagine that they’re sparring partners and they work together and it can’t be that one-sided. I think TJ has a great, great style for Jose Aldo. He likes to kick a lot as well and he’s got good wrestling. I think the size is maybe the only thing against TJ in the favor of Aldo, but TJ will definitely be fast so I’ll never count TJ out that’s for sure.”
