It was a passing comment that became an internet sensation when UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey told reporters that she could beat UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez under the right circumstances.

In a recent interview with BJPenn.com Radio, top-ranked women’s contender Cat Zingano, elaborated on those circumstances.

He’s kind of a big dude,” Zingano said about Velasquez, “but I’ll bite the crap out of his ankle.

When she was told about Rousey’s comments on the matter, Zingano laughed and clarified her stance on just how she could defeat the baddest man on the planet.

If it was in a dark alley and he was drunk and I wasn’t, I feel like I can knock him down,” she said.  “I may get my butt kicked, but he’d definitely remember we got in a fight!

All jokes aside, Zingano is one of the few fighters – male or female – who can claim a KO via slam.  In 2011, she fought Takayo Hashi, and toward the end of the fight Zingnao was in her opponent’s guard, picked her up, and promptly ended the fight.

Yeah, she pulled guard, and I was just like, ‘Uh-oh!’  It was like a three foot drop right onto her dome, she looked like she was a little out of it but still in it so I finished up with two really big overhand rights and her eyes were just rolled in her head so she was done.

I was excited, I always wanted to get one of those.  I always wanted a knockout, and I still feel, to this day, I still don’t feel like I have an official knockout.  Like I want a knockout knockout, I punched you in the face and it knocked you out, or I kicked you in the head and it knocked you out.  It just hasn’t happened yet, so I’m excited to have gotten technically a knockout, but I want one because of a strike, not because of a slam, you know, or a referee stoppage.  I’m looking forward to that.

Looking forward, of course, to knocking out an opponent in the cage and most likely not the UFC heavyweight champion of the world in a dark alley.
