Last night we had Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp on the show to discuss the upcoming Invicta FC 4 card that will take place this Saturday night. The entire event is available on their website (www.InvictaFC.com) and will cost just $7.95.
The main event will crown the first ever Invicta Strawweight Champion as Carla Esparza will take on Bec Hyatt who is replacing the injured Claudia Gadelha. The winner will be the second champion crowned in the organzations brief history.
Jessica Penne became the first champion when she defeated Naho Sugiyama at Invicta FC 3 back in October. Penne finished Sugiyama with a second round triangle choke to capture the Invicta FC Atomweight Championship.
After we asked Knapp about her 2013 schedule she let us in on a secret that wasn’t going to release until Saturday night’s event.
“It’ll be Vanessa Porto vs. Barb Honchak for the 125lb title,” Knapp told BJPenn.Com Radio. “We were going to announce that this Saturday night at the event. That will be our next title fight rolling into the end of March or the first of April.”
