Evan Dunham will not be fighting on next week’s TUF Nations Finale.
MMAJunkie is reporting that “sources close to the event who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss such details in public” informed them of Dunham’s withdrawal, which was apparently due to an undisclosed injury.
After starting his UFC career with a 7-0 professional record, Dunham would win his first four UFC fights, which included wins over Marcus Aurelio, Efrain Escudero and Tyson Griffin. That early success would not endure, however, and Dunham now finds himself with a 1-3 record over his last four appearances.
Dunham’s planned opponent, Mark Bocek, will remain on the card, so long as the UFC is able to find him a suitable replacement opponent in time for the event. But with only a week to go, that might be easier said than done.
Stay tuned to BJPenn.com for any and all future updates to the card.
