Erick Silva Willing To Take 20 More Fights Before Earning UFC Title Shot

“I think it’s still too soon [for a title shot]. I’m not very worried about the title bout right now, to be honest I’m not at all worried about that. If I could do 20 fights until the belt, I’d do 20 fights until the belt because when I go for the belt I want to have a lot of experience, a lot of knowledge because definitely when I go for the title I want to have it on my waist. The only thing I want to do is to do my work, as I mentioned I only focus on my next fight.”

Brazil’s Erick Silva is highly regarded as one of the UFC’s welterweight divisions top prospects. His aggressive finishing style not only pleases fight fans but puts him on a very short list of top up-and-comers.

During last weekend’s UFC on FUEL TV 10 media event a humble Silva stated that he is not ready to be in talks for a title shot and would rather gain experience and climb the ladder slowly.
