Sullivan surely made other money as well, and either sport’s true inception can be debated, but it seems MMA is doing ok at the upper level pay scale for a relatively new sport. If you were to compare Boxing at well over 150 years into its existence, it seems silly to put that against a sport that is less than 20 years old, give or take.
