By BJPENN.COM News - June 17, 2014

Eddie Wineland joined MMAJunkie.com radio to talk about his potential retirement after he suffered a broken jaw at the hands of Johnny Eduardo at UFC Fight Night 40.

“Personally, I don’t want to walk away,” Wineland recently told MMAjunkie Radio. “Fighting is who I am. I love to fight. My plan was to fight until I’m about 34 years old and live a comfortable life after that. But things change.”

“We’re expecting our first kid in December, I’m building a house, and I have a lot of stuff going on,” he said. “There’s just a lot on my plate right now, and I’m not ready to eat it all.”

Despite everything on his plate Wineland said that he wouldn’t want to end his career on these terms if his body allows him to continue.

“No way in hell would I ever to chose to walk away on those terms,”
