For the second time, Junior Dos Santos will not be fighting Alistair Overeem. In 2012, “The Reem” failed a random pre-fight drug test, and now in 2013, he has pulled out of a match with JDS because of an injury.
“I think this guy,” said Dos Santos, “I don’t have too much to say about him because he’s a joke. He says a lot of trash things and he’s a disrespectful guy. And I think their last fight, Bigfoot Silva, my friend Bigfoot Silva put him in his place… [Overeem] love media. He love[s] to talk trash. Win the fight inside the cage, not outside the cage. He don’t win the fight with talk. He’s a trash guy.”
Dos Santos reiterated his stance on Overem while looking forward to the Dutch fighter’s replacement, Mark Hunt. He said, “Alistair Overeem is… I have nothing to say about this guy. He pulled out one more time for the fight, so I have nothing to say about him. What I care now is about Mark Hunt. Mark Hunt is a really tough fighter, he hits very hard, so I have to take care of that. I think it’s going to be a good fight for the fans.”
While the much-anticipated match between JDS and Alistair Overeem will have to wait indefinitely, fans can take solace in the guaranteed heavy-hitting fight between Dos Santos and Mark Hunt. The two are set to face off at UFC 160 on May 25 in a fight to determine the number one contender at heavyweight.Tags: alistair overeem, JDS, Junior Dos Santos, Mark Hunt, mma, MMA NEWS, ufc, ufc news
