Does The UFC Pound for Pound Rankings hold any weight?

One of the many unsolved mysteries in the UFC is the always popular Pound for Pound ranking system.      Playing the “what if” game is a great conversation to have  and  builds excitement for a potential superfight.  Problem is,  it really doesn’t amount to much in the big scheme of things.   The reality of  biased media voting on the P4P rankings is a recipe for disaster.   Not a believer?    Check it out below.

This is how one of the voting panelist  — Brazilian editor Marcelo Russio posted on his twitter account— changed his pound for pound rankings after McGregor’s record-breaking 13 second knockout of Aldo at UFC 194

So the question stands, how valid are the votes for the P4P ranking and do they only serve as just good conversation?
