Dillashaw: Assuncao Loss ‘A Blessing In Disquise’

By BJPENN.COM News - January 6, 2014

Team Alpha Males, T.J. Dillashaw is coming off a highly contested split-decision loss to ATT’s Raphael Assuncao at UFC Fight Night 29.

The defeat marked his first since losing the TUF 14 final tournament bout to John Dodson.

Now set to face Mike Easton at this month’s Fight Night 35 event, T.J. says the experience of his last defeat was a blessing in disguise.

His words via MMAjunkie Radio:

“It kind of just fueled my fire to get back training as soon as possible. I knew that there were things that I could have done better to solidify the win, and things that I could have done that I need to improve on,” Dillashaw said. “If I would have just gotten that choke I probably would have not found out that there were things I needed to work on, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise that I got that win taken away from me.”
