A bantamweight bout has been added to the UFC’s debut in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the form of Roland Delorme vs. Francisco Rivera.
Delorme was originally expected to welcome DREAM champion, Bibiano Fernandes to the UFC, however after a very confusing state of affairs that proved Bibiano was uninterested in the offer presented by the UFC; Delorme has booked a new opponent.
UFC 149 is set to go down on July 21 from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The main event will feature a bantamweight title fight between Urijah Faber and Renan Barao. (For the UFC’s 135 pound interim title.)
Delorme was introduced to the UFC masses during his stint on “The Ultimate Fighter 14.” He last saw action at UFC on FOX 3 when he submitted Nick Denis. The victory marked his second since entering the UFC.
Rivera was originally scheduled to face off with Ken Stone at UFC on FX 4; however he was forced to withdraw due to illness. Currently on his second stint with the promotion, he picked up his first UFC win during the UFC on FUEL TV 3 preliminary card by edging out Alex Soto after a three-round battle.
