Davis Ready To Fight Glover, Thinks Jones Will Pull Out

By BJPENN.COM News - April 4, 2014

Already scheduled to face returning UFC fighter, Anthony Johnson, at UFC 172,  San Diego’s Phil Davis, has a back up plan in mind.

A fight with Glover Teixeira.

Davis isn’t convinced the UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, will show up on fight night, and being booked on the same card gives hope for Davis in regards to a fight upgrade.

“He may not fight at UFC 172,” Davis told MMAjunkie. “It’s not too late for him to back out of this one. It’s happened before.”

“I’m ready for a title shot whenever it’s available. If he happens to back out of this fight for whatever reason, I’m willing to take on Glover Teixeira for an interim championship.”
