Daniel Straus says he would’ve ‘smacked the sh-t out’ of Bellator champ ‘Pitbull’ Freire

By Russell Ess - November 6, 2015

A scuffle between the Pitbull brothers and Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks was reported all over MMA media earlier this week. One of the brothers in the altercation, Patricio Freire has a featherweight match defending his Bellator title against Daniel Straus tonight at Bellator 145.

Straus spoke with MMA Junkie on the eve of the scuffle and was asked if he has crossed paths with his opponent Patricio yet.

“Not yet,” Straus told MMAjunkie Radio. “Or it would be headlines all over Junkie about how I smacked the sh-t out of him.”

Straus said the scuffle is typical of Freire’s behavior.

“He can be a hothead all day,” Straus said. “At this point and at this level, it doesn’t do you any good. It’s not going to get you any more wins than losses. You’re not going to intimidate me.

“What he has to say, the way he walks, the way he carries himself – it doesn’t bother me. It annoys me, and it annoys a lot of people. But that’s him.”

With two previous losses to Freire, Straus looks to turn things around in their third match and to take the Bellator featherweight title.
