Pushed to the facebook prelims last weekend, the son of UFC/MMA Legend and multiple time two-division champion, Randy Couture, fell short in his second Octagon appearance.
The younger Couture showed amazing heart and determination in his bout against TUF runner-up, Al Iaquinta, but it wasn’t enough and he lost a very one-sided decision that saw him get hit with huge overhand shots repeatedly.
“I like Ryan [Couture], he has lost two in a row, you know, we’ll see what happens, said Dana White. He is tough though, man. That kid got a chin, he didn’t get that chin from his old man.”
Ryan Couture showed some promise while under the Strikeforce banner, going 6-1 in his first seven bouts. However the drawing power of his name has not helped him inside the UFC.
Will he find his stride and live up to his father’s name or is he headed for the unemployment line?
