Despite reports of a confirmed fight between lightweight fighters Gilbert Melendez (pictured) and Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 170, UFC President Dana White announced on Twitter that the fight is not a done deal as of yet.

Though reports have circulated for a week now that Gilbert Melendez and Khabib Nurmagomedov will fight one another at UFC 170, UFC President Dana White announced on Twitter Sunday that the fight is not yet confirmed.

In response to the UFC Tonight’s announcement that the lightweight bout was confirmed, Dana White posted, “Not true, this fight is not done yet.”
Both fighters have called to face one another, so it is difficult to believe the fight will not happen; but without a contract in place yet, there are many variables that could change the fight date or even the fight itself.
